Tertiary Students Acquire Skills in Transforming Data into Insights at the first CBSA-Wisers Analytics Challenge @HKUST

May 3, 2022 – With activities moving online further amidst the pandemic, the use of social media has surged dramatically in recent years, generating an unprecedented amount of social data. To inspire tertiary students to uncover meaningful insights with the use of big data and data analytics, the Center for Business and Social Analytics (CBSA) at the School of Business and Management of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST Business School), and Wisers AI Lab of Wisers Information Limited jointly organized the CBSA-Wisers Analytics Challenge @HKUST for the first time, drawing 30 team registrations from local tertiary institutions.

Wisers Information is Invited to Join Hong Kong Forum of AI and Robotics to Share Latest NLP Applications to Empower the Financial Industry

The first Hong Kong Forum of AI and Robotics, co-organised by Hong Kong Society of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (HKSAIR) and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), was successfully held in Hong Kong on 20 March. Sponsored by the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Innovation and Technology Fund, the Forum invited local and overseas renowned experts, scholars as well as distinguished guests from the industry to join and exchange views on the industry’s development and commercial applications of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Frontier research reports were presented at the Forum by leading experts in AI and information technology, including Professor Tan Tieniu from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong SAR. In addition, representatives from well-known global enterprises shared their experience at the Forum as well.
