| China Advisory Board ("CAB") was set up on 1 June 2008 to provide guidance on the Company's business in China. The advisory board members are Mr Lie-A-Cheong Tai Chong David, OM, JP, the Chairman, Mr Yu You Xian, Mr Zhu Ying Huang, Mr Zhu En Tao and Ms Lu Hong Sheng. |
Mr. Lie-A-Cheong Tai Chong David, OM, JP
David T.C. Lie, OM, JP graduated from the Chelsea School of Art, England (presently known as University of the Arts, London), and then completed his Leadership program at the Harvard Business School. In the 80s, Mr Lie founded Newpower International (Holdings) Co., Ltd, with machinery trading as the core business. The company then expanded to invest in manufacturing, property, natural resources and hospitality service. With its rich experience and resources, the company further extended to investment consultancy service in China.
Being Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce's general committee member, Mr Lie also uptakes the duty of Hong Kong Chair of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council - Hong Kong/France Business Partnership. Well recognized for his public work, Mr Lie is currently the Honorary Consul of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He has been appointed as a member of the Task Group on Constitution Development of the Commission on Strategic Development of HKSAR, a member of the Hospital Authority. He has been a member of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council and a panel convenor cum member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel. In 2003 he was invited to join the Liberty Party of Hong Kong and from 2004 to September 2008, he was elected as a Standing Member of the Central Committee, where his primary responsibility was to assist the Party Leaders as Senior Advisor to liaise with the Central Government.
Mr Lie comes from a patriotic family; and he is the descendant of General Zhang Xue Liang (Chang Hsueh Liang). He himself is enthusiastic about China's development and founded The Cross Strait Youths Exchange Foundation to foster the communication of young people in the Greater China area. Being a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference since 1993, this is currently his 4th consecutive term.

Mr. Yu You Xian
Born in May 1937, of Han ethnicity and a native of Penglai City, Shandong Province, Mr. Yu joined the Communist Party of China in December 1955. He graduated from Nankai University in 1960, majoring in Chinese language and a research student in culture. In 1963, he returned to his alma mater, the Nankai University to take up the post as teaching assistant in the Chinese Language Department, and subsequently held other positions in the department, including Head of Academic Research Section and Head of Teaching Reform Team. In 1974, he moved to Henan People's Publishing House as editor and subsequently progressed to become Deputy Director and Director of Editorial Sub-Committee. In March 1981, he was further promoted to Assistant Publisher and went on to hold more senior positions, including Deputy Chief Editor, Publisher, Chief Editor and Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee in the publishing house. In October 1984, Mr. Yu was appointed Deputy Head of Publicity, CPC Committee in Henan Province, and in March 1986, became Director of Education Commission, Henan Province, and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Henan Province. In January 1988, he was further appointed as Vice Governor of Henan Province, cum Director of Education Commission and Secretary of the CPC Committee in Henan Province. In November 1990, he took up various public offices, including Standing Member of CPC Committee in Henan Province, Head of Publicity, Secretary of Working Committee of Higher Education Institutes, and Director of Spiritual Civilization Construction Committee. Since May 1993, he has assumed various central government positions, including the Director of News & Publication Administration, Director of the National Copyright Administration, Deputy Secretary and Secretary of CPC Committee in News & Publication Administration. In 1997, he was elected member of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection at the 15th National Party Congress.

Mr. Zhu Ying Huang
Born in Shanghai in December 1943, Mr. Yu graduated from Fudan University in 1967, majoring in English language, literature and linguistics. He joined the teaching faculty of Shangdong Normal University in 1977. Since 1981, he has been pursuing a professional career in the China Daily. In 1982, Mr. Zhu pursued further studies at Stanford University, taking up a programme in journalism in the Mass Communications Department, and subsequently obtained a master degree in journalism. Upon returning to China, Mr. Zhu took up various positions in China Daily, including Deputy Head of Editorial Section, cum Commentator, Member of Editorial Committee, Deputy Editor-in-Chief and was eventually promoted to Editor-in-Chief in June 1993. For more than a decade, Mr. Zhu has written numerous news articles, commentaries, correspondence, special reports, profiles and special interviews, as well as several dozens of influential editorials on major events both in China and in the international arena. In 1984, Mr. Zhu was nominated the Best Journalist in China. He has also published a number of translation works, being the co-translator of Inside Stories of Macao and Singapore, the Memoirs of Dwight whip, the Rich and Super Rich, the Socialist Democratic Parties in Western Europe and Three Generations of a Newspaper Tycoon. Mr. Zhu is currently permanent executive council member of the Translators Association of China. During the period of 1987-1988, he participated in the translation work of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and was appointed member of the Expert Vetting Group. He has taken part in two rounds of work for the finalization of the text for the English version of the Basic Law.

Mr. Zhu En Tao
Born in August 1938 and a native of Rongcheng City, Hebei Province, Mr. Zhu is a member of the Communist Party of China, Minister's Assistant (with ranking equivalent to deputy minister), Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China, Member of the National Committee of the China Political Consultative Conference, Vice President of the Police Association of China, and Honorary Vice President of Interpol. Mr. Zhu is a graduate of Nankai University, majoring in foreign language. In 1984, China became a member of Interpol and Mr. Zhu was appointed Deputy Director of the China Centre, Interpol. He was subsequently promoted to head the centre as Director and in 1987, further elected to become Vice President of Interpol. In 1995, Mr. Zhu was appointed Honorary Vice President for Life of Interpol. He is also a prolific writer, being a member of the China Writers' Association and the China Translators Association. Among his published translation works are The Invisible Man, a detective Antecodes, and a series on Interpol: Interpol History, Interpol Inside Stories and Interpol Antecodes. He is also the editor of the book Interpol and the Red Notice. Mr. Zhu has also been a member of the creative team for a number of TV drama series, including the Narcotics Police, The Director of Public Security, The Red Dragnet of Justice, Snowy White, to name just a few. He is also the author of several fiction books: The Fishing Scandal, The Director of Public Security, The Red Dragnet of Justice, and Snowy White. Mr. Zhu is currently part-time Professor, Tsing Hua University, School of Law, Professor Emeritus, Nankai University, part-time Professor, Chinese People Public Security University and Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois.

Ms. Lu Hong Sheng
A native of Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, Ms. Lu was formerly Secretary-General of China International Culture Exchange Center. She currently serves various public positions including Executive Council Member of China International Culture Exchange Center, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Chinese Culture Exchange and Promotion Association, Executive Council Member of China International Culture Exchange Foundation, Executive Council Member of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and member of the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO.
She graduated from the Beijing Languages Institute in 1969, majoring in foreign language. She then took up the post of teacher at the Children Secondary School affiliated with Nanjing Hong Guang Machinery Factory in 1972, subsequently promoted to head of academic office and assistant principal. In 1979, she joined the International Department, Federation of Trade Unions of Jiangsu Province and moved to Wuhan University in Hubei Province in 1980 and appointed Deputy Head of Expert Team under the External Affairs Department, subsequently promoted to Deputy Head of the department. Since 1984, has served in various posts at the China International Culture Exchange Centre, including Deputy Director of the Secretariat, Head of Culture & Art Department, Director of Liaison, Deputy Secretary-General, Permanent Deputy Secretary-General and Secretary-General, and General Manager of China International Culture & Arts Corporation.
